Just a quick note to let everyone know, I'm working on some site upgrades, so over the next few weeks, it will be even more wonky than normal.  It's been acting up for a while, so I'm hoping to fix everything with a good clean install, it's just moving the database over as well.  Wish me luck, and hopefully soon you'll get to see a flashy new site!

Just a quick note, you're now able to (once again) add comments to blog posts and news items (like this one).

You don't have to make a profile here, and all you need to make a comment is your name.  I'm still trying to get it to integrate with Facebook, Twitter, and all the rest, but for now, it works really easily, so feel free to add your thoughts!

Good gravy, here we go again, another big update to Joomla, the software that runs the site.  Let's see if I can break it this time!

Update: Everything seems to be running okay.  Still have some things to work out behind the scenes, but you shouldn't see any changes!

It's once again that time, where I try not to break everything as I upgrade to the latest version of Joomla.  This time, there will be a couple of upgrades at once.  I'm not sure what it will look like when it's done.  So let's find out!  There will be some things not working, I'm sure, but I'll squash whatever bugs I can find along the way.  Hold tight!

Update: Well, it's updated.  Still have a lot of stuff to work out, including the template, which is always the biggest pain.  But I did expect that.  Hang tight, and I should be back up and running in no time.

Strange things are afoot, I can't get the second half of my blog post to update, I'll be working on it more tonight and tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Update: Bug squashed!  Have no idea why it wasn't working, but an image was breaking everything.  Now we're good!

The topic for the 2010 Blog Action Day was just announced: Water:

Just a quick note, I've added World Cup widgets to the sidebar on the main page, as well as over on the blogs.  The first will follow Ghana, who I pulled in our World Cup pool at D's, the second will follow the U.S.  And on that note, congrats to the U.S. for their draw and Ghana for their win (first for any African country in this year's tournament)!

I'm working on some updates to the blogs, so pardon the mess.  Test articles will be popping up and then disappearing, I'll clean it all up once I get it all set up...I hope.

Towards the beginning of the summer, Metblogs quietly launched a new site called the Global Conspiracy, looking at citizen journalism.  I was selected to be one of the writers, representing the Northeast.  And while I certainly hope the project will live on, for now at least, it is on hiatus.  If you're interested in reading my writing, I've cross-posted it here as well.

If the GC ever comes back, I'll let everyone know (and unpublish the posts here so as not to confuse people), but in case you want to check it out, here is the link to my articles.

Just a quick note, I updated to the latest version of Joomla. Everything is working per se, but a few things aren't acting correct. I'm still working on them, hopefully I can fix the top banner and spell check next. Thanks for your patience!

Update: Still working on some issues.  But I think I fixed the banner at the top, although time will tell, we'll have to see once caches refresh and whatnot.  Also, the galleries are not working at the moment, I'm working on that.  I enabled something I've been trying to get for a while, and now those don't work...hehehe

Update 2: Galleries should be working again.  Still working on a few details, but I'm happy thus far.  More details in a bit!
