Special Blog Post: Deathly Hallows initial reaction

Below are some of my initial reactions to finishing Dealthy Hallows, read with caution and enjoy!  I will be back with regular content and updates soon (hopefully tonight), I have two lists allready filled, and I'm working on a third, so expect more blog posts soon!

I just came up from finishing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by the edge of Lake Courage and I wanted to get down some thoughts. The book was dark, there is no doubt about that. And I like that fact. The first death in the book came as a shock, but it served its purpose: just as Whedon had to kill Wash in “Serenity” for it to really take hold and make it more meaningful, so too did Rowling have to do what she did: and from that point I think we all knew the gloves were off and that this was it.

I’ll probably have to jump into some spoiler’s below, so read with caution after the break (click “Read More…” to continue the article).

Special Blog Post: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Following are some observations and predictions about the seventh and final book in the Harry Potter series: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Chances are, all of my predictions will be wrong, but I figured, what they hey, I might as well post some thoughts on the subjects, throwing my hat into the ring if you will. There are spoilers of the first six books (mostly Half Blood Prince) so read with caution if you are waiting to read them or for the movies. More after the break (click "Read More..." to continue reading).

Quick update

Just a quick update: I've been posting to the blog as often as I can, and I've been taking all kinds of pictures, so expect those soon, as well as a slew of new book reviews.  We've passed the half-way point for the summer, so it won't be too much longer now.  Thanks for reading, have a great one!

More photos

A new photo gallery was added: URU Live.  And more pictures were added to the geocaching gallery.  I went caching the other day and got to take my camera (for the first time), so enjoy the pictures!

Geocaching gallery added

A new photo gallery has been added: geocaching.  The photos are listed as their cache identification numbers (and then as needed, followed by lowercase letters).  The pictures were taken by Cat, the other half of Team Shadopuppet, but as I go caching and take pictures I'll be adding more.

Koinonia 4 pictures added

I finally added the photo gallery for Koinonia 4.  Over 100 images (hence the delay) are in the gallery for your viewing pleasure, enjoy!

Site goes green

Today I switched the site over to green, hope you like the new skin (and hopefully Spring will be here soon)!

Book review and blog calendar

Some updates to things around the site:

The book reviews are pretty much working. For whatever reason, unless you are logged in as a user, it will only let you read the full review of the first (latest) 10 on the list. There are two workarounds (besides paying 80 bucks for the upgraded version, which I won't since it only comes with a year of support): you can create a free account (only takes seconds), or if you see a book review you want to read, use the search bar at the very top of the page and you'll be able to read it that way.

Still haven't heard back from the developer of the blog calendar (the original coder switched the project to a different developer), so keep imagining that the year 2000 says 2007.

That's it, more book reviews coming soon, keep on reading and giving me feedback!
